bio

A native of New York, Phil was born in Brooklyn. At the age of 10 he moved to Plainview, Long Island with his family.

Even as a young boy, Phil had a passion for the arts and the visual world. Phil graduated from Plainview High School in 1964 and then went on to attend The School of Visual Arts in New York City. There he studied Fine Arts, Illustration and Graphic Design, graduating in 1967.

For over 30 years Phil has used his education and experience in his images and designs. In 1983, Phil's image "Rose Wood and Silk" was published as a large poster by Bruce McGaw Graphics in Manhattan. It became a best seller, selling out at the International Art Show in Manhattan. Through his long career he has produced images for advertising agencies, corporations, magazines and TV stations. Phil's travels have found him in the Middle East, Central America, Mexico and the Pacific as well as throughout North America. Traveling for the National Institute for Exploration, he conducted field workshops on travel, landscapes and wild life photography.

Today Phil continues to look for new avenues in creative use of photo media. He passes on he's experiences by teaching photography and related computer graphics at an adult education program at a local high school.
